How to Streaming H.265 to Samsung via Plex without Video Buffering Issue?

HEVC x265 buffering when playing on Samsung TV via Plex

I currently have a Plex Media Server on a local network. The network is cabled and using gigabit connections. I am currently having issues when playing HEVC/x254 videos whereby after every few minutes (normally every 3-5), the video stops and the buffering dots appears for a few seconds. This issue only occurs on my Samsung UE55HU7500 and UE55HU6900. If I use a PC, iPhone or iPad either locally or remotely it plays fine. It does not matter how I try and play the videos; both direct play and transcoding have the same results.

How to fix H.265 video buffering on Plex?

After searching on the Internet, we find this article: How to Fix Constant Video Buffering Issue on Plex. And we get the information that the vast majority of buffering issues when streaming content in a Plex app are caused due to the following two main reasons:
1. The network connection can't support the requested stream.
2. The content can't be transcoded fast enough for the stream.

Since the user who posted the problem said that “The network is cabled and using gigabit connections”, we can see that there is nothing issue with the former reasons. As for the second reasons, it is well know that the transcoding process of H.265 is very computer processor intensive, if your computer is very old, it may be not powerful enough to perform the transcoding that you need. Besides that, the problem may also caused by device limitation. For example, the Plex app for your Samsung TV can experience memory-related constraints. If you try to play content at too high a bitrate, the app can run out of memory available to it, which can result either in crashing or in poor playback, which may manifest as buffering. When in device limitation cases, lowering the video streaming quality in Plex app to the recommended values may help.

Transcode H.265 for streaming to Samsung TV via Plex

If above listed ways does not address your issue, another effective way is transcoding the high bit rate H.265 to Plex supported H.264 codec with lower bit rate but high quality. Here, you can utilize our top ranked H.265 Video Converter,Pavtube Video Converter for Windows/Mac (support Mac OS X El Capitan), which can effortlessly decode H.265 to Plex app for Samsung TV compatible H.264 codec, so that you can play video on Samsung TV via Plex without video buffering issue. In addition, you can also compress 4K video to 1080p for smooth video streaming effect.

Besides H.265, the program also assist you to convert other incompatible file formats such as AVI, ISO, BDMV,Video_TS, etc for playing on Samsung TV (Plex app supported Smart TV models)through Plex app.

DJI & NLEs: Edit DJI Phantom 4 4k videos in Premiere Pro CC

DJI Phantom is an amazing invention, it can take people’s sight to anywhere in the sky. Most people want to edit DJI Phantom 4 4K videos in Premiere Pro CC or other video editing applications after flying it. However, they always find Premiere Pro CC doesn’t work fine with DJI Phantom 4K videos.

I'm on a nice, shiney new iMac - i7, fastest, baddest, 5k res monitor, etc. Quick hard drives, even tried the internal and a SSD, but DJI Phantom 4 4k video is very slow in Premiere Pro CC. Runs doggy though I can view it in 'Preview' or the finder with no issues - even two or more streams of 4k plays fine, just not in Premiere Pro. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried both .mp4 and .mov file types, the same outcome. In Premiere Pro, it tends to play about 5 seconds of video just fine, then starts breaking. Also, is there a benefit of one file type over another (.mp4 or .mov)?

The DJI Phantom 4 professional captured 4K video in MP4 or MOV(up to 4096×2160 24 / 25p, 60 Mbps, with MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 codec) format, which is not a native editing codec for Premiere Pro. Adobe Premiere Pro CC can handle 4K files without much problem, but it is extremely hardware intensive. In addition, the DJI Phantom 4 4K video footage compressed with MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 will still have big file size, it will take a lot of time for Premiere to render those 4K videos.

To solve those problems, the quick workaround is to convert DJI Phantom 4 4K MP4/MOV to Premiere Pro CC natively supported formats MPEG-2 in 2K resolution. Pavtube HD Video Converter for Mac (review) is now providing the most reliable and professional 4K solutions to all format issues including 4K XAVC/XAVC S4K MP44K MTS4K MXFand more.

Except for transcoding DJI Phantom 4K videos to MPEG-2 format for Premiere Pro CC, this 4K Video Converter also able to convert 4K MOV/MP4 files from DJI Phantom 4 to the most compatible format (Apple InterMediate, Apple ProRes, DNxHD Codec) for FCP/iMovie/Avid MC.

More important, with this professional 4K Video Converter, you can compress the resolution of DJI Phantom 4 4K footage from 4096*2160P to 1920*1080P so that you the video clips easier for Premiere CC to render.

The trail-before-purchase is supported, just feel free to try it:

H.265 & Sony Movie Studio: Trancode HEVC/H.265 for Editing in Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum/Suite

High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), I'd like to call it H.265, because it sounds cool. It's the new successor to Advanced Video Coding (AVC), also known as H.264. The idea of HEVC is to offer the same level of picture quality as AVC, but with better compression, so there's less data to deal with, It can support 4k resolutions up to 8192 x 4320, so some of the 4K footage encoded by H.265 codec.

It seems that it is not so friendly when you try to edit H.265 files in Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum/Suite. According to the Sony's official website, Sony Movie Studio can support MPEG-2, MPEG-4, QuickTime, MPG, WMV, XAVC S format but doesn’t provide any information about its codec. Owning to the high system requirements, it is very slow to import the H.265 video to Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum/Suite timeline playback and rendering.

So if you want to edit/play HEVC (H.265) videos on Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum/Suite smoothly and without rendering, you need to find a professional converter to transcode it first so that provides you an efficient way of converting H.265 to MPEG-2 to make it suitable for Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum/Suite.

Here Pavtube Video Converter is highly recommended to you, this tool is a professional third party program to deal with HEVC (H.265) videos, you not only can convert HEVC (H.265) files to Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum/Suite with MPEG-2, but also can reformat HEVC (H.265) videos to AVI, WMV, MOV, MP4 for easily playing.

In general, it provides hundreds of output format presets, besides MPEG-2 for Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum/Suite, it also provide DNxHD for Avid, MPEG-2 for Adobe Premiere, WMV for Windows Movie Maker, etc. Apart from H.265, this ideal converter is also available to deal with other video formats including MTS, MXF, MOV, XAVC, MKV, AVI .etc.

The trail-before-purchase is supported, just feel free to try it, it is 100% clean and safe:

Tips: The conversion speed is very fast because it supports batch conversion and NVIDIA CUDA & ATI Stream (AMD APP) acceleration technologies. It converts multiple video clips at the same time, moreover it can shut down computer after the process is complete, so run the app overnight and you could enjoy the created videos next morning when you are up.

As for Mac users, Pavtube Video Converter for Mac will let you convert H.265 video files to iMovieFCP XFCEAvid MC and more on Mac OS X (10.11 El Capitan included) with ease.

Easy to Import/Edit H.265 Files to/in Final Cut Express

H.265/HEVC, the newest codec that can bring us much than H.264, is an unexpected but potentially path-breaking announcement. It will take several weeks or months to confirm just what advantages or virtues it offers.

Presently, I'm not sure what CPU requirements will be to edit or play H.265. The Cyberlink PowerDirector editing product may already support some H.265, or it will shortly. Until now, it seems that Final Cut Express has no abilities of handling H.265 videos. So, how to import H.265 to FCE for editing?

To convert H.265/HEVC videos to Final Cut Express supported video formats, such like Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC)(*.mov), I highly recommend Pavtube Video Converter for Mac (Best Video Converter for Mac Reviewe) to all of you, which can be the H.265 decoder to decode HEVC video files well for FCE on Mac.
